Try A-Plan insurance. I've got an S and 6 points for speeding. Still only £700. There is a mileage limit though. They do it on a case by case basis (no computer quote system involved!)

01635 874646 - good luck. Ask for Darren Nangle. Apparently the more people they get, the cheaper it becomes for all of us in the future....

Try Priviledge, I was quoted less for a MK 2 Tuscan (< £500) than for my Integra R !

Tesco was the cheapest for me @ £900, not needed to make a claim but others' experience seems to be good. No track days tho'

The problem that some will face is that they're buying the Tuscan as a second car.....I have a full NCB on my M3 which I use every day, but when I came to buying a second car, I was told that I couldn't apply the full NCB to a second car as well, and would have to start from zero years. Most companies would not quote me, despite no points, no accidents ever, over 35 etc. etc.

Direct Line eventually quoted me, presumably because they also insure the M3. Over a grand though, even with extremely restricted mileage.

It's certainly a total scam, that's for sure - companies will obviously quote more for high risk drivers, but if you have a full NCB and no accidents, a fair system would mean that the NCB could apply to any number of cars. You can after all only drive one of them at a time if you're the only named driver.....

Dave P,

My tuscan is my 2nd car. The NCB is no problem, my every day car has my full 6 yrs NCB, and the tuscan I have with classicline (£700) fully comp, limited miles 5000 p.a. but they do not need my NCB - win all round!!!!!!

Simon

PS I am 29

700 quid on a second car without the need for a NCB seems like a great deal if you're 29 !

Not bad heh....spent ages talking to tesco's, directline, blahblahblah.... and none of them wanted to 'piggyback' my insurance policy, except norwich union direct, but they were still over a grand. I insured with them for the first year for £1100, then they changed their policy to stop piggybacking, so for the last 2 years have been with classicline. They will only do limited miles (5000) I think for TVR's (or if you go over 5000 miles I've heard they will charge a premium). Still, I have 2 vehicles insured for 900 quid. Classicline advertise in Sprint Magazine (I don't have their number to hand)

Got my renewal from a very nice Manning man £450ish limited to 5k but the bugge#s have now included my wife, rasnn fassnns rassnn, the only good thing that might come out of that, is if the Gendarmes catch me whilst in France next week, at least we can get the car back to port.

Best Regards,

James Sim.

I am with Mannings (just renewed) they were still the cheapest at £570 for a Tam, max no claims, no points etc, over 40 (ish).

Good quote that you have got from them, did try others Sunninghills, Classic etc but all over £650.
