Old business still registered at my address

Hi all
I have been in my property for over 18months.
The previous owner had a business which is still registered at the address. From what I gather he hadn't been trading for a number of years. I have had a few instances of debt collector letters and one instance of a face to face visit from a bailiff which was swiftly resolved. I keep getting HMRC letters addressed to the company. I haven't opened any yet and have all been popped back in the post...not at this address sort of thing.
I have now had enough and want the address removed. Companies House won't talk to me and HMRC only have a statement saying.....if the business was registered before 2009 then you need to seek legal advice!!
WTaF. How can it be so difficult to get a business de-registered at my address.
Contracting HMRC has been fruitless currently given the massive waiting times and there's a million numbers none of which address my issue. I'm assuming actionfraud isn't the way to go?
I imagine this is probably going to cost me a few hundred quid just to get 'advice' going the legal route bit it can't be that difficult a situation right? It seems extreme given I can prove I live here, own the house etc. There must be a magic phone number for this sort of thing
Anyone had similar experiences?
Edited to add. The previous owner absconded to the canaries some time before the sale. It was jointly owned by him and the daughter...the house. Not the business.
I have no forwarding addresses for either.

I emailed both the fraud email and the main enquiries email at companies house last week and received a reply yesterday saying they’ll pass it to the relevant department. What will come of I don’t know yet
