944 turbo drive by noise levels
Discussion
I've just booked a track day at Donnington in October which has a 98dB maximum. Since the baffles were a bit gone in my exhaust I wanted to check the noise levels for my car. The noise test guy at Donnington was very helpful, but told me that my car, a 1987 Porsche 944 turbo, would be likely to fail the drive by noise limits.
Anyone got any experience of this? Am I limited to 'noisy' track days or ones that only have static noise tests?
It's a tad annoying since one of the reasons I bought this car was to do track days!
cheers,
Chris

1- 944Ts are pretty quiet as stock & unlikey to fail unless its a lot noiser now
2- Donny has one noise tester on pit straight, you can lift off for it
3- Get a new standard exhaust then with standad airbox its pretty much guaranteed 99.99% you will pass at all UK tracks
5- Unless you have deep pockets, being restricted to 105db days is a pain, as there are not so many of them & they are more expensive & you may not be able to do a day at Bedford.
4- Bookatrack were offering a drive by at Donny to check noise levels, (see trackday forum)where by you turn up to one of their days (by prior arangement) to do a couple of laps to get you drive by, thus save wasting your dosh & time if you are sent home off a trackday.
