Thinking of replacing an ageing Samsung Galaxy tablet. (Tab A) always worked flawlessly but looking at the newish Samsung Tab S7+. Has anyone on here have any thoughts on these ? Anything as good or better for the price.?

I would recommend the S7 plus Samsung tablet. Brilliant OLED screen, comes with an S-Pen and the speakers are very good too. With wireless keyboard and mouse running in DEX mode, it does a very good Windows 10 emulation. It's quite fast too and you can add a micro-sd card to expand the memory.

I've always been android for phones and not a fan of the iPhone at all, but for tablets always go for an iPad. Just got the new Air it's a nice bit of kit. Apps are far better optimised for iOS.

I have a Samsung Tab Pro 12.2, which to be honest has never had much use.

Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely piece of kit but I found it too heavy for handheld use. I did buy an expensive keyboard case which basically allowed it to be used as a laptop ... but then it wasn't a laptop running windows.

Guess the upshot here is, I suggest you go try one for size before dropping the best part of £800 on it ... or at least buy it from somewhere which will accept a return.

ETA - At this time of the year it's always worth hanging fire to see what Black Friday brings, deal wise.

The S7 plus is still a relative bargain compared to the iPad Pro!

The S7 is still more expensive than the new iPad Air 4.

True although the Air 4 is still more expensive than a Tab A 10.1. However, I would suggest they're not aimed at the same market, a bit like the Air 4 and S7 plus.

You're telling me! I was quite happy with my Huawei tablet and phone but once they needed upgrading i.e. tablet software was stuck on Android 7 then thanks to Mr. Trump, I was left with little else but Samsung.

I got a cheap Alldocube iPlay 20 tablet from Aliexpress a few months ago.

Stood me £100 after paying the customs charge, so less if you don't get stung.

Has Android 10, 4GB and 64GB storage. Not as slick as an iPad obviously but it's 1/3 of the price.
