Hitachi 50 Sart TV AVL Problem

Hi, new TV 4k smart 50", wired up to a Virgin V6 box, really impressed with everything but, we've set the volume to AVL.
Every time we turn off the TV then turn it back on the AVL setting has switched back to off?
I think I've tried every combination of settings but I can't get it to stay on AVL.
Had a Soundbar rigged up to the last TV if that would have affected anything?
Would anyone have any ideas please?
