Just out of interest, what sort of verified top speeds have people seen from the various cars, 4.2, 4.5 and S6?

Curious more than anything else, and its always a good subject to start a lively debate

175 verified (e.g. by GPS)? Or on the speedo?

Perhaps in the absence of a GPS or independent timing advice, posting the rpm in top gear (and the wheel/tyre size) might enable more accurate comparison. Anyone hit the shift up buzzer in top gear?

The 4.5s do 195mph. Must be true, TVR say so

Ive driven a couple of cars at 150mph (on private roads, of course) and that was enough to make me poop myself. Heaven knows what 175mph and above must do to your bowels!

On a "track" last weekend had an interesting meeting with a couple of bikes. I started to pull away after 60 and saw an indicated 72 I had to break though or I would have missed the pits/turning off to the house plus the wife had woke up! Does get pretty noisy in these cars after 40 but it felt pretty steady.

Mine still pulls like a train at 1.6 s.u. (speed units). This is the speedo reading, but I don't think it's too far out.

I saw 1.7 s.u. with the madman on the test drive before I bought it. ENOUGH methinks

Like to get it on a runway with GPS, and see who sh*ts out first!!

Our speedo seems to be quite accurate compared with the GPS... not had it up to silly speeds, but from the gearing/ rolling road data/ gps - it looks like 195mph is possible (gearing wise)if it has the power to keep pushing then. That said, if there really isnt a rev limiter (there seems to be on ours?) then more is possible.

I wouldnt be suprised if a chipped/ RR'd one would do some astonishingly good speeds (190mph+ REAL) as a pretty average one in my experience is good for 180+mph

You get your passenger to take the pic for you....

That pic was actually taken al Elvington in 2002 (a fellow Ratpac members car), so he only had a 2 mile runway to play with.

I recon all Cerbera's will do 170, good 4.2's probably 180, and good 4.5's 190+

I recently had an hour on the 2 mile runway at Bruntingthorpe and managed 170 (speedo) on 4 occassions and it was still rising before i had to slow for the fast approaching end!

I have only done 140mph, (past a 911 ). Anyone know where I can go higher - legally? Perhaps a day out for a few of us?

Seen 192mph indicated on my speedo, car feels quite planted at this speed, in fact better than about 150ish oddly.
