Looking for a smart watch as I've gradually got more into running and I'm currently running with my phone to track runs on Strava/ play Spotify music which isn't ideal...

Is there a smart watch that is compatible with Strava and Spotify where I don't need to take my phone with me?

I have a Samsung S9 so don't want Apple.

Budget is about £150 but not put off looking second hand if my budget is too low.

You can’t play Spotify on Apple watch anyway! (without phone nearby)

That's surprising since they cost so much! Guessing they do Apple music instead? I might just have to get some sort of strap for my arm to put my phone in...

You can now.

Streaming of Spotify is now available on Apple watch, although if you don't have a WiFI signal (so ok in the gym but not out running) you would need the cellular version. Storage of Spotify music files is still not available though.

Yes, and you can choose which playlists you want synchronised to the watch so can then just play from the watch. It will also synchronise podcasts to the watch.

Garmin are pretty much the ‘go to’ watch for runners.

Depending on the model, you can install the Spotify app and download playlists etc directly onto the watch so that you don’t need to take anything else out with you.

I’ve got the 645 Music, and it’s very good.

The 245 Music is the one I’d recommend to you except that it’s double your budget unfortunately.

Maybe look for a second hand 645 music as runners love to upgrade to the latest kit?

I actually looked at the GT2 a while ago but I don't think it supports Strava.

I have a Gaming Vivoactive 4, it can play Spotify playlists from its internal storage direct to Bluetooth headphones.

Garmin will track the activity using its Connect service which is very good with loads of detail. Connect can be linked to automatically upload the activity to Strava.

Everything you asked for. There are quite a few Garmin watches all with these features so take your pick within your budget.
