Car I most regret selling

Seeing as how TVR owners are a cut above the rest in appreciation of the finer points of car design aethetics, performance appreciation and (to use the vernacular) grunt, I thought it might be interesting to learn about our most regretted car disposal.
To start the ball rolling, mine most definitely was a green 1953 Zephyr VI MkI that I sold for I-can't-remember-what in 1972. My parents bought it for me for about 80 quid, as I recall, in 1970 to learn to drive. It was a column-shift 3 speed box and more importantly a bench front seat. Courting was a main interest at the time and I knew every left hand turn between my house and my girlfriend's house where there was a possibility of using centrifugal force to edge her closer to the seen of the eventual action at the end of her road! Back to the car....though I didn't realize it at the time it was in amazing condition and with a bit of TLC could have become a concours winner. At the time it was a bit of a tank with a straight six that was desparate for a pair of twin Webers, stiffemed/lowered suspension etc.
I wonder what ever became of NLH198?

Not a TVR owner (yet) but I regret selling my old Cinquecento.
I bought it off my Mum with peanuts mileage and ran it for a while... then decided to sell it to part fund it's successor. Sold it to one of my mates Mum's.
His younger brother wrote it off (he hit a stationary car at 50mph)... walked away (not even any cuts or bruises) but the car was a right off.
Felt like I lost an old friend. Happened to see if on the back of a lorry heading for the scrappy a day later... never forgiven myself for selling it and knowing my Mum's affection for the car, I still can't bring myself to tell her what happened to the little thing.
Live and learn...

PS Cortina Savage 3L sounds like it must have been quite an experience, was that in a Mk3 shell?
I haven't sold it yet, so I don't regret it! :-)
However, and at the risk of repeating myself, my dad wishes he hadn't swapped his 1959 Mercedes 300D pillarless limousine for a Ford Zephyr Mk.4.
The Merc. needed a starter motor (47 quid in 1971!) and he got sick of hand-cranking the 3L straight-6 every morning. Plus the Arabs decided it would be a laugh to force up the price of fuel, so he figured it would be a good move to get rid sharpish.
Anyway, the Zephyr seized its engine (as a lot of them did!) on the M1, and the Merc. was last seen in 1974 outside a local scrappy, with most of the panels kicked in.
Ten years ago the old feller had a heart attack, and whilst he was recovering, one of my brothers thought he might like a classic car mag to read. In the price guide at the back he found the Merc.: only 1200 were ever made and at the time they were valued at 47 GRAND. His house was worth about 30K.... and Zephyrs still aren't worth sh1t.

My lightweight landrover to a point, i had it for six years,was restored to full military spec including ariel boxs on both wings with ariels that could extend 25ft won best in show four times,it was that convincing as a serving mil landie that i even got nicked in it once for suspected theft of a military vechile,hand cuffed, 5hours in a cell the lot until they realized there mistake.It was my every day car in all this time and eventually i needed something a bit more bit comfortable and opted for a range rover the day it drove away with all its gear including matching trailer brought a tear to the eye,if i had the room then as i had now i would never have sold it.
Hmmmm.... thinking about this, can I change the theme to 'Cars I DON'T regret selling'... :-)

My first ever car was a Simca 1100 van, donated by my uncle Bastard. Sorry, Barry.
Still, it was free, just spent 4 months wages fixing it up. No fun when you're 17 and get paid a pittance by a bank, but I digress.
Everything PC says about how bad they were is true. I'm even tempted to write to the Ed. with some of my recollections, like the floor falling out every time you stood on it. And when we took it for an MOT and the guy spotted a nice round rust hole in the chassis that we'd forgotten to patch, dad told him it was the air intake for the heater....!
Eee by gum they were the days, we slept in a rusty jerrican by the beck, 12 of us kids and us grandma, dressed in newspaper, ate a handful of dogshit for breakfast, ran 44 miles to school with nowt on us feet but razor blades, came 'ome, had a sip of battery acid for tea and us fatha would thrash us to sleep with a roll of barbed wire, but by gum we were 'appy.

Regret selling the pre cat Griffith I had - but then I would not have had the Cerbera...but selling the Cerbera really took some doing -it was hard to deal with - but then I would not have got the 355 spider which cheers me every time I come home and see it beggging to be taken for a spin....
However as I am not selling the 355 the aesthetic magnificence of the cerbera , the pearlescent paint shimmering in the sunlight as it changes colour depending on angles and the throbbing cacophony of sound as it was floored through tunnels will be something that will stay with me forever....so this was the hardest to sell so far.....

The Cortina was a mk 2 and it was a great car to drive,the only problem with the car was the lack of stopping power!!!
I've just been around for a long time , I have had a number of other cars that I did not regret selling.
I should have kept the Sunbeam Tiger-what a car!!
