Hi

As you can tell by the title, Im going to embark on a long and no doubt expensive project in converting my 2001 85k mileage bmw e46 330i saloon into a bmw M3 saloon. Are there any body parts / accessories which I can take front a breaking M3 coupe to be transferred onto my saloon or do i need to buy custom parts if so can you recommend sites to look for these. I have been looking through 'MStyle' they seem to have most the parts I would need to do this transfer.

Any Responses would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I’d buy a scrap M3 for your project. Front wings can be made by a combination of 330 wings and M3 wings. Rear arches can be cut off the M3 and put on, or you can buy aftermarket non metal M3 style arches. Re blending rear doors to arches different conversions have done it different ways. You’ll need to remove the spare wheel well for the exhaust. Have a look at Calvin’s Car Diary on You Tube. He’s comverting a estate. M3 front seats will go in with a swop of one seat rail on each seat for the saloon ones.

It's been done:

https://www.e46fanatics.com/threads/lsb-xi-progres...

Should be plenty of info those threads I would have thought.

I haven't bothered reading either of those threads tbh, as 4 door M3's don't float my boat at the best of times, and a 4 door E46 M3 just seems like a lot of work, and a lot of expense, for little gain over the coupe to me.

(That's not meant as a criticism btw, it's just a personal view. If I needed a small-ish 4 door M car, I'd be looking at an E39 M5)

Best of luck with it.
