Beat because of 4WD

Picture the scene.
Pulled up behind a brand new WRX last night 54 reg (Very nice looking motor, I've nothing against them) black with large gold speedlines (about 8:45 Halesowen, Stourbridge Road).
As I'm sat there I see the driver giving me a look and he nails it off the line as the lights turn green and a Sunday driver in front of both of us turns off.
Not one to back down (and as the lady friend wasn't in the car ready to scream) I pressed the loud pedal and went right after him
. Kept with him which impressed me, as to on lookers it must have looked as if I was driving a newly designed forklift truck the way the back end was wagging! (road was damp)
about 400m down the road there is a 45 degree corner with a slight camber. I let off, he hits the brakes. Halfway through the corner he's back on the power and off........just as I'm thinking, "hit the gas or the brakes and im hitting that tree....lamppost....fence...house etc etc
" needless to say I backed off (quick reality check
) and he sped off down the road.
Caught up with him further on, as he turned of down a twisty road, he just looked and smiled.
GOD DAMN 4WD!
wait until I see him again on a dry day!

this means you will be around when that dry day comes Must admit my 450 got Scoobied big time on a really good Tivver section of the A444 from Tamworth.
Chris knows what he was pushing out, but I have to say, I'd have liked a little go in it.
Seriously thinking about fitting Nitrons and having a decent geo.
Not that I condone racing on the highways, but after the (shush - Elise) I do find it a differnet game, albeit a very nice one.
Wish I could get em fitted prior to my track day at Donnington August 5th - bugger.

s4s, got to agree with comments on the triple 4, its a top road from tamworth, I used to drive that way to work every day in my mx5, and always wanted more power! now I've got it!
Nice story about how 4x4 power rules in the damp or wet, but rwd is cool in the dry, I've always had rwd cars and love power oversteer!

I have to say I prefer 2WD to 4WD. And definaley the chim to a scooby, although the scooby will kick my behind in any sort of corner. The reason? Well in the dry with the roof off, and a warm set of tyers and I have kissed the apex on my fave corner without lifting off, I know I have done it and not the computer! And that feels good! 
but when they pull along side and do the grinning thing, or 
undertake I....just....can't ....help.... myself Why the rant?
There will always be faster cars out there and there's more than one reason for choosing a car.
