Coastal Break within 2hrs drive of Cambridge

Any suggestions for a nice location for a weekend away with the girlfriend on the coast within a couple of hours drive of Cambridge or B/Stortford? We want to go away next weekend and are looking for suggestions of decent places to go/stay along with a nice hotel.
Not interested in tacky places such as Yarmouth or Southend.

45 minute drive to Stanstead and then a 45 minute flight to Paris

There are some quaint bits around Hunstanton/Sandringham, but I don't know where they are. I can never lure myself away from the tacky funfair for long enough.

I used to go on holiday there when I was younger. Its a really nice little place, some good roads too.

Wells-Next-The-Sea / Holkham on the North Norfolk coast.

A childhood hol favourite of mine (I still go camping there at least once a year too) The town has it's tacky bits like most places but there's great beaches and sand dunes, miles and miles of stunning pinewoods with nice walks and a nice little harbour which often has some impressive boats moored up (used to be a very busy port).

I like it anyway!

take the coastal road from hunstanton to cromer and there are some really nice places along there which don't appear to have been taken over by the dreaded british tourist town bug

I second that!!

Just got back from a walk along Holkam Beach. Very peaceful and relaxing.
No "kiss me quick" stuff there, I can tell you!

The Suffolk coast and along the Deben are very nice places. Aldburgh beach is nice to just sit on and Thorpeness boating lake is always an entertaining adventure!!!

I have been working at Woodbridge for the last year Chris...I didn't realise it was such a nice town. My auntie lives across the road at Hasketon.
