I hate this company with a vengeance, I am sick of seeing their bloody adverts saying you can have a day in London with all the family for just ten or twenty quid, then whenever I enquire, it is always several million squid and its cheaper to go in the Bentley including fuel and parking.

I hate Virgin even more for similar reasons - banging on about their "ultra cheap fares" which are essentially useless because you have to (a) book ahead and (b) undertake to travel on a particular train, while their useful (ie. non-pre-booked) fares are stratospherically high. Then there's the overcrowding and monopoly issues on top of that.

Being in Bedford I'm quite fond of MML - their trains to London are quicker than Thameslink, more comfortable and less crowded. They also got shafted by the regulatory authorities recently - bought a lot of new stock for Leeds-London services only to be told in a sudden policy reversal that they weren't going to be allowed to run those services after all. They pissed me off by removing all the smoking accommodation from their HSTs, but nearly all train companies piss me off with that one.

Well, it was the Underground that banned smoking first. Blatant discrimination against pigeons. It was no pigeon that set fire to the escalator at King's Cross. We always make certain our fag ends are extinguished, by crapping on them.
