I am about to go see a 993 2S. Have seen photos and can see that rear grill does NOT have a split down the centre. My understanding was all S spec cars have this as standard. Is this not so? Interest is basically if it should have this and does why not and a question to ask owner re potential historic accident damage. Grateful if anyone knows the form here.

Here in NA the 4S has the single rear grill, and the s has the split grill. It is a common "upgrade" for guys to fit 4S's with the split grill. I think something is amiss with that car.

If it's the one on ebay, it used to have a turbo spoiler, which has been replaced (by the present owner)with an electric one. The wrong electric one...

993 Carrera S with electric rear spoiler should have a colour coded split grille.

993 Carrera 4S should have standard black grille.

Vesuvious Carrera S should have grey split grill, grey mirror covers, and grey door handles (like devdog's car).

All C2S cars came with a split grill unless a TT tail or aerokit was inatalled. If its been changed at some point in time, make sure the front splitters have also been changed accordingly (had an interesting conversation with Steve at JZ a while back about another customer's car that had GT2 front splitters and no spoiler).

Not sure if you can view this without registering at the forum:

Basically the previous owner of the car is on this forum - he put a Turbo spoiler on, and the next owner removed this and put a electric spoiler on - but not the correct 2S split spoiler.

Nothing dodgy going on here, and apparently a good car....

I'm currently looking at getting a c4s but I will put a colour coded 2s spoiler on the back...why I hear you cry....well because having the same colour across the back excentuates the 'wide body' look, also the black just doesn't look right, especially on light cars.

Obviously I'll keep the original just incase the next owner is after original spec.

My 4S has been colour coded by one of the previous owners. It is the original 1 pice and not split 2 part. It looks lovely and keeps it sort of original.
