Okay only joking not the dog but the police force in question.

Anyone else have zero sympathy and thinks she shouldn’t have been at an illegal rave during lockdown where participants were throwing stuff at the police when they tried to disperse it.
I hope nothing is done to the poor police dog. On a personal note I like watching the police shows where the dogs always get stuck in normally after some scrote has done a decamp from a stolen car lol.

it's not the dog's fault and will be the handler's issue. Was it under or out of control?
35 eons ago my dog was attacked by an off the lead police dog on duty. These things happen albeit rarely but in that instance my dog won so the matter went no further. Dog's do what dogs do. It's up to the pc's to keep them in check.
She probably has a valid claim if she wasn't threatening or attacking anybody.

I don't see it as punishment, but if people are going to throw stuff at the Police while at an illegal rave in the middle of a pandemic, then it begs the question as to what the attendees expect the Police to do when things start to get out of hand.I feel sorry for the girl being scarred for life, it may stop her wearing skirts, give her self image issues later on and even go beyond that regarding mental trauma, however, I don't think (may be wrong, if so I apologise) that a Police handler releases the Dog without very good reason and that the dog will attack random people.
again, I'm not a Policeman so I am just surmising the above.

I personally have my doubts about this story (or the journalism), Apparently, her leg was broken, the dog would have to be "going some" to break a leg. (Accept it could be the leg breakage could have happened in a fall)Boosted LS1 said:

They could have backed off and made arrests as people left? Sometimes there's no need for a confrontation and sending a dog in upon civilians is plain stupid. It wasn't nescessary and also put the dog at risk. How much does it cost to train a police dog? Lots.
But when were these people going to leave? I’m going to try and find the video, but I remember it as the handler with dog on lead approached the woman, who was dancing, from behind and the dog latched onto her thigh, dragged her to the floor, then had a go at her ankle. The handler looked like he was smacking the dog in the eyes and the nose to get it to release.

Glad to see most people seem to be seeing it the same as I did. I picked this up from a faceache post originally and the consensus on there seemed to think the dog should be put down and the PC sacked (very mumsnet if you ask me).
