Child Car Seat Recommendation - 4+?

Not sure which section this should go in... so i'll bung it in here and let someone else decide...

Eldest turns 4 in a couple of weeks and is now outgrowing his maxicosi pearl seat.

The choice & selection now we are out of 'baby' seats seems ridiculous.

Exactly what should we be looking for and does anyone have any recommendations?

It looks like we now need a 'group 2' seat?

Forward facing would be the preference as he's been forward facing for the last three years and turning him round doesn't seem like a great plan now.

Recaro Monza Nova. Ours have the Young Sport Hero as they were younger when we bought them so needed the harnesses, but the Monza’s come out a bit cheaper.

We’ve got a similar one, same make but it’s the type with a built-in harness so it begins as a baby seat and grows with the child, switching to booster seat mode as they get taller.
Age range states 3-12yrs which seems a hefty claim at first but we’ve had no issues thus far.
All the upholstery and padding comes off too.
Fabric goes in the washing machine, the then-bare plastic base gets jet washed.
Good but of kit. Even fits the Caterham.

We're looking at the Maxicosi rodiflex at the moment
