IMO you will not be able to get a 718 Spyder with no history or a nice GT to part ex.

you can ring round a few dealers and ask about a GT4. Although now PDK is available slots again might be thin
the last round of manuals there were some untaken slots. But I think a lot of people will want a PDK car to fix the very long gear ratio's the GT4 has.
So imo very little chance on a GT4 also.

I think a new round of slots is about to land, but it's still a game and you can buy a GT4 under list with del or very low miles now.

All the above is ONLY my personal view I am happy to debate mine and other peoples views if it's strictly just car related, Other views and opinion's are and will be available, any opinion I post is NOT a statement of fact.

Don't worry I thought the same. Unfortunately most (bar 5 ) OPC are franchise and as such the owners decide who gets a car and who does not a car.
The rarer the car the more of "relationship" you will need, take that as having a good buying history with them. If you have ever tried buying a new rolex form a Rolex Ad you will know how it works
Mu suggestion is it can be done but you will need to do a bit of leg work.
Phone as many dealers as you can and see what each one says. I found some were up for giving a GT4 slot to a non Porsche owner like me ,. some flatly refused.
Keep and eye out for cancelled orders again internet , dealers are good for this . Maybe a wanted ad on here or Porsche owners FB page

Good luck and give it a good bash as you got nothing to lose. If that does not work you can always wait till used ones appear on the market , which they will going by the number of Gt4's for sale and you might even get it below list

4.0 Boxster 50th edition, Gt3 and 992GTS are going to appear very shortly.
All will turn the head of some current depositors, so worth keeping your ears open for slots that become available, especially as Covid malaise continues.

It feels like slots are pretty full, but waiting lists aren’t too deep.
Will be clearer when q1 allocations are released to dealers

A friend was offered a delivery miles GT4 from an OPC 4 or 5 weeks back, although though it wasn't a great spec, and it seems there are a few around if you call. He didn't like the drive due to the long gearing so didn't discuss whether there were any available slots for an order

Don't think it'll be that special, probably a highly specced/priced GTS 4.0 with unique paintwork/decals

Only that it's very limited numbers, coming out in January. No idea how special or otherwise.

they have never made a nice "Anniversary" model before, just free spec and colour.

Time will tell but I doubt it's exciting.

Prices would tell you that people think the 911 50th is a “nice” car. Always seem to sell pretty quickly.

Apparently 1250 cars. Based on GTS 4.0 with some styling from the 1993 concept car.

The specs are
https://preview.redd.it/hpo88ygrquv51.png?width=15...

The body shell is to be the original 986 body, with all the technology and upgrades that the subsequent versions have brought to the party...but all housed in the original 986 body.
