iPhone X oled screen - where to buy
Discussion
Wanting to repair an iPhone X screen thats got a small crack at the edge.
Anyone know where to buy the same spec screen as the original? There is so many different types, and know a lot are carp, or misleading.
I’m believe its a soft oled screen I’m after, but don’t want to get sold something that it isn’t.

Replacebase are good, and have hard and soft OEM matching screens.
Unfortunately with an iPhone X, you won't be able to restore Truetone unless you copy the screen data from the old screen to the new screen (I have a programmer here....if you are anywhere near Surrey).
That looks like what I’m after, thankyou.Unfortunately with an iPhone X, you won't be able to restore Truetone unless you copy the screen data from the old screen to the new screen (I have a programmer here....if you are anywhere near Surrey).
Unfortunately I’m a long way from Surrey. I wasn’t aware of that specific issue, but very interesting. Not sure if I can do much about it.
Are you in the business of repairing phones? I’m just a bloke who’s handy with a screwdriver! Any other handy tips / advice welcome

No, I'm just someone who's handy with (a very small) screwdriver too. My experience was that the iPhone X screen was tricker than most previous ones because you ideally need to replace the waterproof seal around the screen and I could have done with a second attempt at getting that right! You also need to remove a number of components from the old screen to attach to the new screen. Also note that the iPhone X has Philips and Tri-Wing screws inside it as well as the pentalobe screws on the case so make sure you have the right screwdrivers. You can't do anything about Trutone without the programmer which I bought for the purpose. If you want to borrow it then email me and I'm sure I can sort something out for you.

Thanks for the advice, that is handy to know. I’ll have a bash once I get the parts together. I presume you have to save the Trutone settings with the old screen still in place? Might be in touch.
i don't know how screen specific it is but yes, it does just copy from the old screen to the new screen. You can do something without the old screen too but I haven't tried that.
You need the old screen to copy the data, but it doesn't need to be connected to anything, the programmer takes care of that.
