wheel suggestions please

Oh dear...following a minor 'moment' one of my rear wheels no longer meets the standard requirement for a wheel (i.e. 'Must be round') I've seen a couple of Griff/Chim standard full sets for sale here and there but am wondering if now is the time to try something completely different while keeping one eye out for someone selling a single rear estoril.

So, with that in mind does anyone have any suggestions?

I quite like monaco's wheels ... and wouldn't mind something along those lines but I'm interested in any suggestions you have.

Ideally would like to keep the fromt/back size differential as well as the 4 stud layout.....

I thought I better put a Griff pic on the thread before it inadvertantly gets moved to the chimp forum

If I we're to go for slightly bigger wheels and skinnier tyres, what kind of effect would this have on handling?

Main problem I encountered when looking for aftermarket wheels is the unusual offset, which is different front and rear. The suppliers say fit spacers but I am not keen on that idea, also large spacers will exclude you from sprints (see blue book). In the end I gave up and found a set of original ones.

If people would like to post pics or mail me them with info on there wheel upgrades/hubs etc I will do a whole page on The Griffith Pages
Think it would make a good page for future ref etc and to see all the different types and what they look like on the Griff.

Morning Catretriever.Bad news about your 50p shape rear wheel. I have placed some 17" Speedlines front and rear to my Griff.
Howerver why don't you give TVR Car parts a call as I know they have a good selection of wheels for sale.Here is their web page tvrcarparts.com

getting anything aftermarket with the correct offest for the front seems to be a real problem. How strictly must this offset be followed?

Changing offset in front is not a good thing as it will influence much on steering. AZEV in Germany will supply any (almost) offset and drilling. www.azev.de
Myself I bougt type E; 7,5"x16" with 25mm offset front and 8,5"x17" with 40mm offset rear. The 40mm rear offset makes it possible to run 255/40-17. Keeping the original 35mm makes only 245mm possible (clearing). Front I run 225/45-15. pt

Yep Hurrah! Delivered yesterday by a nice chap called Peter.
Will need to get them refurbed before fitting tho'. Thinking of doing the centre part in Anthracite, with silver rims...

Further to this is seems that the bolts on the rear wheels will need replacing. Does anyone know of a source for these bolts? I've heard of a supplier in Germany but they have a rather long lead time so any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated,
