I am new to V8V’s, got my first one last month, it’s now on 15,000 miles & has one year Timeless warranty.
I know that they are supposed to idle briefly after a cold start, but I’m not clear if having the neutral light flashing is normal at that time.
Mine flashes for 30 seconds or more & not respond to any button pushing or paddle tugging during that time.
But everything seems to reset if I turn the engine off & on again, although the ‘key’ is reluctant to eject.
I sense that’s not right, but not sure what is right, or if it’s me?

My car is a SS1 and when starting from cold with brake pedal depressed you are supposed to allow for circa 10 seconds before the car selects neutral and button illuminates. During this time the clutch does something (engages/disengages to sense clutch bite point?)

On SS11 I think it is the same process but the neutral button flashes during this process until the car selects neutral, you should allow it to carry out this process without doing anything
The owners manual explains the process

2016 V8S here with SSII.
Checked this morning. On initial start the neutral light flashes for 5 seconds following start while it does the clutch check. I have not tried selecting a gear during that period.
30 seconds sounds like a problem!

Thanks All

I tried using my glass key instead of valet key & there was no problems at all. It sprang back to usual position flush with fascia & the neutral light flashed for about 10 secs then went off.

I'll have to examine the valet key & try to work out the problem.
