buying a moon mileage e90 330d??
Discussion
Hoping for some expert advice and someone to talk me down from (possibly???) buying a moon mileage e91 330d touring manual.
Looks in very nice condition, (michelin pilot sports if that says anything) only a few miles away with near 240k miles for 10 year old battered clio money.
The intention is to carry on with the mega miles clocking up 24k/yr in it.
help?

i recently sold a 325i e91 with 80k miles for a 330d manual e91 with 170k
Apart from the obvious wear and tear for the extra miles the engine feels great.
As long as consumables have been replaced on time should be ok.
I would use or borrow if you dont have one, a proper scanner. Things like a failed glow plug module, problems with the foot well module etc will not show any dash lights but will give you problems.

If the price is right give it a go.
The worst that can happen is that it fails in a terminal manner and it needs scrapping/ breaking for spares.
I would, and have done similar in the past.

ts itself, worth giving it a go.Tried that. Bought one on 175k miles. Seemed great when i viewed it.
First cold start next day though and it STANK of diesel. Fitted new glowplugs and thermostats. No difference.
Was all set to stump up for injectors, which would have meant spending 50% of the purchase price on it. Then i reversed it into a concrete post, creasing the rear quarter. I sold it as spares or repair.
To be fair, it drove excellently at that mileage. Just get one that's free of issues and don't get scammed like i did by the owner only letting me see it after he'd thrashed it home from work.

3.5 years I’ve owned my manual M57 engined 330d and I still love it. It’s got a ‘mere’ 155000 miles on it and still drives and sounds great! I have spent too much on refreshing suspension bushes and bearings but I don’t see me getting rid for a while, I just can’t think of anything else that would have more all round ability.
If you find another decent one then go for it.
