I haven’t worn my Oris Divers 65 for a month or 2, I picked it up and wound it on and noticed that it wasn’t very smooth as I turned more and more, very catchy.

Then I noticed what looked liked rust underneath the crown, pic below.

I wore it a lot on holiday back in July but probably stopped wearing it in September for a while.

I bought the watch second hand originally but it’s still in its warranty period.

I called the local Oris AD and they said it would be £40 to send off for a warranty inspection as they didn’t sell it originally. Don’t have a goldsmiths in my city, should I take it to one when things reopen? Or is it worth getting a local watchmaker to open the back first to see what has happened?

Unless under warranty, take it to a decent watchmaker.

That rust (?) appears to be on the exposed part of the crown. As in exposed even when the crown in correctly screwed in.
