He’s a engineering genius that bloke and makes everything sound like an absolute piece of p*ss!!
“The hydraulic clutch on my Viper V10 bike was quite hard to pull, so I just knocked up a vacuum assist and linked foot pedal via separate master cylinder and fluid reservoir”
Not to mention the concealed cassette gearbox that he knocked up for his son’s downhill MTB with stationary shift.

"So now it's time to take these two engines and split them to make them one" *pulls out hacksaw*
The thing I like about his bikes is that side from the mad ones like the viper and the Flying Millyard, they look like they could have been made by the factory. I bet if you parked his Velocette V-twin in a motorcycle museum, most people with only a passing interest in bikes wouldn't bay an eyelid, and I mean that as a compliment

He is the Motorcycle equivalent of Fred Dibnah. He looks at something and just knows he can make it work.
Both unassuming and both seem to be likeable as well. People who can imagine something and then make it are few and far between.
The other similar person is Charlie Brumfield. Looks at a Spitfire engine and goes yep that will fit in a Rover SD1 with a Leyland Leopard epicyclic gear set running an auto box.

What goes thru someone's mind to make them look at a Viper V10 engine and think "mmmmm, just the ticket for a motorbike." Even if it turns out to be a good idea, you have to wonder about the thought process behind it, and possibly think about having him sectioned. Those brass grips he made were fabulous, although I still don't think brass and grips will be a good practical combo.

In fairness it's a thought process that's been around a long time - Boss Hoss were sticking small and big-block V8s in motorbikes long before and then Dodge made the Tomahawk.dontlookdown said:
Yes he really makes them look factory. His work highlights one of the lesser known virtues of aircooled engines too - that they can be chopped up with a hacksaw and welded back in new configurations, because there is no coolant to worry about;)
He's built a few water cooled bikes - a Kawasaki v12 built from 2 Z1300 engines,a 6 cylinder water cooled replica of a Honda RC374 racer which has a Yamaha FZR250 engine with two extra cylinders
and a 500cc four cylinder water cooled Kawasaki H1 based bike

I'd love to meet him one day.
