These chaps have just been suggested to me by a friend as he was asking me why I still had some of my cars and I was explaining that I just hadn't plucked up the courage to sell privately.

I hadn't ever heard of them but the are based down the road and seem to have been going a while.

Has anyone any experience of buying or selling through them?

I spoke to someone there re selling a car.
I Really did Not like the waffle / bullste I was given and the insistence that the car needed to be put with them “ With No Reserve “ .

No way Jose, il advertise it myself and save on their fees.

I thought the owner was a proper weirdo. But found the collecting cars guys good to deal with.

I’ve had two friends sell cars with ‘The Market’.
Both cars achieved good prices - one better than expected.

Like Richard, my bullst antennae twitched quite quickly on speaking to someone there, but it seems their sales system works perfectly well.

Thanks. I imagine that if it were my business I would push no reserve to try and limit the number of failed auctions due to unrealistic owner valuations.

Moderator edit: no advertising please.

I've used them a lot, and would happily recommend them. They're used to dealing with owners with unrealistic expectations of their car's value (as are most auction houses). They achieve a great sales rate and prices though.

I too have used them, and had a hassle-free and relatively easy experience.

Even though I privately disagreed with their assessment of value, I ran with it. In the event, the car exceeded both theirs and my expectations. They are now very popular, and there is about a three to four week wait to get a car listed I believe.

Happy to discuss in more detail offline if you wish.

I like the cut of their jib, but have not actually done business with them yet.

I often check out their cars and most things sell for the right price. Quite often see something I'd like to bid on and it's also interesting to see what cars have sold for.

They put a lot of effort into the photo gallery and descriptions. Seems a premium place to sell a classic or interesting car.

This seems to be a clone of Bring a Trailer in the USA, if somewhat smaller. As might be expected, I follow Jaguar sales and they have achieved nearly $500,000 for two Lynx replica XKSS's, and LHD copies at that. No reason then that htis company couldn't do as well if not better.

I've used them twice (as a seller) and couldn't have been happier with their 'concierge' service - great photos, great write-ups.

I've visited a couple of times to view cars (as a buyer) and, again, found them to be nothing but helpful and transparent.

I watch this site along with the collecting cars site. If i was selling i would give them a try! In fact i would say over the past year these sites have really taken off.

I see them as a good addition. This one is quite local to me and if they can get a fair value for a good car and save me from having to do the selling graft then I'd be happy to try them. Especially at the moment when I don't really want to be partaking in any test drives.
