2012 Mercedes Sprinter Power Steering Noise
Discussion
I've got a 2012 Sprinter Dropside Truck and it developed a Power Steering noise whilst manoeuvering.
If you turn the wheel at idle or very low speeds, it makes a whining/squeaking noise towards either end of lock. If you rev the engine whilst doing it, it goes away.
Upon initial inspection, the Aux belt looked a little slack, so I changed this along with the tensioner, but the problem persisted. I looked again and there were two pulleys on the engine which had play in them, so I changed both of those. Still the same. I have now changed the power steering pump and obviously renewed the fluid and yet it is still the same.
The only other pulleys the aux belt runs round are the water pump and alternator, both of which have no play in them.
Any ideas, as it's really bugging me now!
