Hi

I have the front of a 60's Fiat 500 and the nose of an X300 Jaguar XJ hung on the wall at home.

Any recommendations for other pieces of scrap that look vaguely interesting?!

I'm married to a VW nut so there's a Golf GTI grille that moves around the house as decoration...

Not quite wall art, more desk art! I have a table lamp that I put together years ago when I worked for Lynx Engineering. The base is an original D Type disc, then comes an adaptor so that the stem, an E type camshaft, can be bolted to it with recessed cap head socket bolts and then on top is another adaptor the same size as the end bearing on the camshaft and that takes the bulb holder. Topping it off is a big glass bowl so that it works as an uplighter but also allows light downward onto the desk. Height to the top of the bulb holder is a tad over 30", all the metal surfaces are chrome plated and it weights a ton. I love it!!

While not bits of car, I bought some old Autocar magazines from 1975 and used them as wallpaper in the downstairs bog:

Great fun looking at the prices for some of the cars back then. DB5 for £2k anyone?

Original back end of my Healey 3000, from when I fitted a new panel. I just had to connect up the lights, of course !

After going off the road on a slick of diesel near Niort back in 1993, I hit a wall. Not too hard and the damage was repairable. Well, it was for 2 minutes perhaps, when an S-class Mercedes did the same thing and ploughed into the back of my car. A few seconds later an SM turned the car into a banana. Which is the reason why the front apron of my 348 TS hangs from the lean-to as a greeting to all visitors.

I have framed this, as an awful warning.

Slightly sideways, I also have some prints, that have the signature logo shown below.
Can anyone tell who is the artist?

Thanks!

I know what you mean about questionable taste, it is very upsetting to see that Alfa rust!

Rust? By 70s standards that’s merely a few ‘age related marks’ biggrin
