Hi All,
Am I right in thinking this is a Triumph Renoun from about 1950?
Thanks
Bob

No, not a Renown, which was characterised by sharp edges (e.g. along the bonnet sides). Also that looks like a convertible. My first guess would be Bentley.

Is it not a Triumph Roadster (of Bergerac fame)?

I'd put my money on SS Jaguar, just pre-war.

Definitely an SS Jaguar, probably 2/1/2 or 3 1/2 litre as I I don't think that the DHC was ever made on the 1 1/2 litre chassis.

Yes, Coventry registered in May 1938 or thereabouts and I agree 2½ or 3½ litre

Thanks for all the comments you've made me see some things I had not noticed before. I'm now going with the SS.
