Quooker Tap Boiling Water Spray
Discussion
We have a Quooker flex with the water filter attached. Everything is fine when you use either normal tap water, or the filtered water, but pretty much since day 1 the boiling water has seemed a bit spluttery, to the point the boiling water sprays all over the place. Not ideal when you're holding a mug under it, I often get a few boiling water splashes on my hand.
I did a bit of Googling and one suggestion was to look at the aerator nozzle, but presumably if this was the case then it would be the same for tap/filtered water too? I wonder if it's the boiling water tank that's causing the problem?
It's only 10 months old so presumably under warranty, but I wondered if there's anything I can try?

The nozzle is probably scaled up inside. Does it have a nozzle on the end of the spout that you can unscrew? Stick it in some watered down vinegar overnight to remove limescale.
Or if the nozzle doesn't come off, put the water/vinegar solution in a plastic bag and tie it around the end of the nozzle to soak it.

The 'annual service' is just descaling which an easy diy job - https://www.quooker.co.uk/media/wysiwyg/d/e/descal...
maybe OP can post up a quick video

Agreed, the tank descaling is easy and if you call Quooker they will send you out a set of replacement gaskets for free, though you can usually re-use the old ones. maybe OP can post up a quick video
Also agree with the other poster about descaling the spout, sit it in vinegar overnight to clear.
A bit of easy maintenance should sort it out.

Bumping this thread. Did you get this resolved? We have just had one installed and seems to splatter on boiling only, need to get the installer back but want to make sure its not normal!
They all make a noise and the water comes out a bit spluttery. That’s a consequence of some of the water turning to steam under pressure and then both of those being released at the spout. All normal. If it’s so bad that you can’t catch it in the mug then it’s an issue.
I understood the sputtering is also a design feature, it prevents a laminar flow of boiling water and therefore reduces the chance of deep scalding if you accidentally put your hand under it. It shouldn't be spraying everywhere though. Just make sure the nozzle is below the rim of whatever you are filling up.
Our new Quooker Flex did the same spluttering from installation. We found that Quooker have a self-service tool on their website for sorting faults yourself.
The spluttering is due to the hose (you pull out of the tap) not being inserted far enough into the round black counter-weight under the sink. It was easy to push it further in. You should not be able to see the gold bit on the hose end (or not very much) where it goes into the counterweight. Hope that helps
