Had a client pay an invoice to my Starling GBP account over a week ago. All the IBAN numbers match up. This was USD going into my GBP account which normally works fine and just gets converted over when it lands. The money never landed and has been paid back to the client.

Having some issues getting through to Strarling's help centre so just wondered if any Starling users knew of anything I haven't done or any issues I"m not aware of.... do I need a USD account?

I don't have a biz account with Starling but I did ask cust support if my american in-laws could send me some usd to our joint account and they said you couldn't send USD to a starling GBP account, and they don't currently offer USD accounts. hth

I pay for a USD account for my UK Starling account which gives US account number / ACH routing number, allowing payments to be received from US.

Assuming ayedubya is correct, a USD Starling account should resolve your situation, if it's worth your paying £5 fee a month.

Can't they use something like TransferWise? Usually have some of the best exchange rates and typically the transfer is done within hours.

OK then, in the file marked 'Nothing is Easy'.....

Opened a Starling USD account. Got the Account number and ACH number.

The client's bank is Lloyds. UK company and UK bank account. Their client pays USD into their USD account. But their USD account requires an IBAN number for my Starling USD account which Starling do not use!!!

Looks like transfer wise may be the best option!

Really? That must only be with the USD accounts then as I have an IBAN number for all my Starling accounts when I view my account details in the app.

Yes - that's exactly it. For USD they use the ACH network of banks. So if the paying bank account is also on this network, that's fine but if not, they can't pay into the Starling Account as it's either ACH - or - IBAN but not both!/
