How many genres do you follow?
My approach to music is ASD (like me) - with a little bit of mental breakdown. I've always got music on but get bored easily, can't listen to whole albums.
My 'favourites' playlist contains; Punk, Rock, Ska, Dance, Indie, Chill, Soul, Classic, Trance and even some odd bits of Hip Hop and Jazz and all their sub genres
Some of my friends 'only' listen to one genre, like Rock
How do you describe your tastes? have you stuck with one genre your whole life? or are you a psychedelic mash up like me?

No, I'm not. While my in-car MP3 player has every track The Stranglers ever recorded (except for one, of course), it also has a wide range of other stuff as well. I'm not sure I'd even say that there are genres that I don't like, at least in part because I'm not really sure how to categorise things. There is a lot of music that I don't like, and there are some that I sort-of-like but always end up pushing the track-skip button if I've put them on in the car. I'm probably experiencing the musical awakening that people who went to university went through when they had to put up with other peoples choices and found new stuff that way - I heard a track in a pub between first and second lockdown that I liked, and fortunately it had some weird lyrics, and even more fortunately I could still remember them the next day to find out it was Tame Impala. Heard of them, but never considered that I'd like anything of theirs.

Which one are you missing? Funny thing about The Stranglers is I know literally nothing of them post-Cornwell, which is a long time. Went to his last gig with them and it was a messy night at Ally Pally. 
I don't listen to Hip-Hop or Grime or modern pop music, but will give most other things a listen.
I would say I really dislike Hip Hop, yet there are about 8 Jamie T songs that I love (whilst the rest of his I loathe) and Handsome Boy Modelling School (White People) is one of my all time favourite albums

Nope, I claim to like most things but then turn my nose up at a mate who plays Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and Boyzone on his phone's s
tty speaker (He's mid 40s before anyone says some teenagers are like that).
The only thing I really hate is the autotuned vocals running through pop and R&B tracks these days.

k awful voice synth st. Why? sounds like Yodelling on the Sound of Musicto me
Pretty much I am afraid, I have always loved guitar based tunes, starting off with Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Gun's n Roses, however I fell down a rabbit hole when I bought a Garth Brooks CD many years ago. This led me into Country Music and I started listening to Nashville based artists, however the likes of Brad Paisley, Miranda Lambert and the like were ok but just too pop for me, so I headed deeper into the country sound and discovered the Texas/Red Dirt sound. Now all I listen to are artists from Texas, Oklahoma, managed to get over to NY this year before lockdown and caught a few that had headed up the east coast. Artists such as, William Clark Green, Flatland Cavalry, Whiskey Myers, Blackberry Smoke are what floats my boat!!

Until May, I'd have recommended you try to catch them, but now I don't know what it will be like without Dave Greenfield. They're intending to do the tour, sometime, but they haven't said how. There's no arguing that the albums with Paul Roberts and John Ellis are quite different, but do have some very good tracks on them, and the same for the more recent ones with Baz Warne.vixen1700 said:

Grime was one genre I was thinking I might not like any of, but if you played me two tracks and asked which was Grime and which was Hip-Hop, I wouldn't be able to tell you. I don't doubt that they're very different to each other, by the way. As for modern pop, some of it's OK and some of it isn't. I have a problem with some modern female singers who sound like they're singing through their nose - Ariana Grande being one. I don't know if it's just the way she sings, or some modern auto-tune effect, it just doesn't sound right to me.Daggle74 said:
