Came out a couple of weeks ago and the touch version (what I play) has just been released too. I've purchased it as something to tide me over for the next few weeks now we won't be allowed to the pub.

As usual I started with Leicester, managed 1 win and 1 draw in 4 games, so not doing that well. Drew Napoli and PSV in my Europa League group so that'll be tough.

Anybody else playing?

its the same as the 2017 version... just slower.

i have 5 or so versions up to 2019. played the demo 21. no upside over older versions. its just become an over complex database.

its a great concept but the owners are happy not investing in the product. by now the gameplay should look like FIFA 21 and the AI should be intelligent enough not to do mindless things.

To be fair it isn't a great update. They still have to pass forward with two people at kick off (I think) when the rules have changed so they don't have to. At least on the mobile version. Only update I can see is that you have squad friendship groups and the praising and criticising of players is a little different. However I am still going to play it whenever I am on a flight. 2019 version I got to 2046 before it made me retire. I spend too long on planes.

I've had it downloaded since the beta, but haven't played it yet. Got a decent save that I'm still enjoying on 2020 at the moment. Once I'm done with that, I'll start the new one.

From what I've seen the player interaction has had quite a major overhaul for this version amongst some other bits. I think with all games that are an annual release, it is unlikely you'll ever get a complete new game.

I'm in, downloaded and started a new game at the weekend.

The one good thing with buying it each year (since 2018 at least) is I can simply cut and paste all of the necessary badge/face/team/competition data from my 2020 folder into the 2021 without the hassle of downloading it all again! biggrin

To me it feels like a good update so far. More options with regard player interactions, more varied goals being scored in the match engine (I've seen some corkers already), and the save times seem to have halved from 2020.

In reality I'd be more than happy if I was still playing FM 2018 with a current database, but £30 once a year to get everything back up to date and a few tweaks here and there seems decent value for the 300 or so hours I get out of each edition.

To be honest, as an Arsenal fan the annual cost is worth it just for the escapism, and the the satisfaction of selling Mustafi and Xhaka every year.
