It’s finally happened after about 45 years of owning a bike.

It’s going to cost more for the vehicle tax than it is to insure it.

£93 for tax but only £85 to insure it.

Triumph Sprint GT by the way.

I guess that’s getting old for you

Aha. Well, there are ways to redress that balance you know tongue out.

You failed to start a thread by ranting about how motorcycle VED is far too high.

You can leave your "Pistonheads membership card" by the door.

It's a bit annoying that my V7 which averages 60+ mpg costs 3 times as much as my 1.2 car which is lucky to see better than 45.

I'm only 25 and my FZS600 is £85, think tax is about £70? Really is cheap motoring...

Bizarrely my car, brisk 190bhp oil burner, is £20 a year VED. So by contrast I didn't think of bikes a cheap given the miles per year.

My last car was about £500 a year, and my Zafira costs about £200 or something though for a 1.4.

Nothing makes sense.

Yup. It’s retarded.

Be even more daft if I decide to remap to 230bhp...

Happened to me in July for the first time, insurance < VED.

It's a 2002 Thunderace, insurance £90, VED £93. Late 50s and a bit creaky too so not sure I'll use it much next year. frown
