Schumacher vs Ilott......

First look at any cars on the short circuit.

Short track is weird - blink and you'll miss it.

F2 boys pretty close to 60 seconds already after just 10 minutes running.

They'll be qualifying at 60 seconds or less.

F1 less than 50 seconds?

They are lapping in F2 practice around 1min 3 secs.

I'm thinking F1 will be around 48 secs!

Track looks a little trickier than I was expecting.

Reckon MSC will win the Championship?

Wonder what we'll see in quali?

I was just making the same point about how fast this circuit is over on the F1 thread. F2 is running way faster than expected - if that does translate to F1 in the same way (it should do..) then that's going to be pretty extreme. Considerably faster than expected!

As too will those bumps be for the poor F1 cars smile

Qualifying proving a bit of a struggle for some.

Number of cars on a short track not making life easy.

Ilott 9th, but Schumacher only managing 18th so far.

Oopsie.

in a frantic desire to find space and get a lap in, Schumacher gets careless and chops off the front of Nissany.

19th at the best.

That was nasty! Quali is a bit fraught on this tiny circuit isn't it!

Schumacher hits Nissany forcing him off the track and out of control and comes back on and hits Schumacher.

Mick - "Why did he hit me"

Classic Schumacher.

Schumacher displaying the F1-winning characteristics of his father and Max Verstappen - it's always someone else's fault. Even when it's not.

They all battle for an opportunity for a clean lap. Circuit too short for that. "fk it" they think, I can make a good fist of a messy lap I reckon... I'll deal with the traffic..

Good luck to the F1 boys..

That's racing drivers not specific to any one of them in particular!

Has anyone watched Mick all year? He has been pretty faultless!

Second half, I agree.

In some of the early races he was bit erratic, with some very low placed finishes.

Yeah that's fair, hence the use of pretty rather than completely. I don't think anyone has really had a perfect season but Mick has just been consistently at the front mostly hence why he is up there for the championship. Gonna be tough for him from P18 though!

Not great for MS but let's face it, he has an F1 drive now and will surely remain in F1 for quite some time providing he has at least a modicum of success.

I don't think we've seen the last of F2 incidents at this oddball circuit either..

That was a mistake from Mick that Lewis used to make, passing someone then pulling back to the racing line too early.

I can almost guarantee it won't be a mistake he'll be able to repeat next year wink

Note the change of timings this weekend, with the F2 race before F1 FP3 at midday GMT - that’s only an hour away!
