Small Business Website

Does anyone have any recommendations for a tool to create a couple of page website?

I did put a gig on Fiverr but got a load of answers from people that either didn't read what I requested or their answer were barely readable, which didn't inspire me with confidence.so I used square space to create something that looks ok and seems to have some good stuff like SEO(?) etc,

However when I've gone to create an email address it seems I need to create a plan, then when i've got to that it appears that the hosting is quite expensive which would be fine but I already have hosting with TSO for other emails etc so i'm reluctant to do this as well.

So is there a real dummies tool for creating a couple of page website (header, footer, body) with a contact us page that will handle all of the SEO like square space does (assuming that SS SEO is any good!) that I can upload the pages to my TSO hosting publish to google etc etc?

I've had a look at webflow but not getting on with it really, or does anyone have any recommendations for someone (on fiverr etc) that can knock something up? I don't want to spend a fortune as I'm not really hopeful of getting any business from it...

If you are not expecting to get any business from it - why are you doing it?

A website costing you £1,000,000 which makes an additional bottom line for you of £2,000,000 is good value
A website costing you £100 which brings in zero extra to the bottom line is bad value

To have an email address you need to own the domain name
To use that domain name for a website you will need hosting
It doesn't matter whether they are both at the same place / different places - if you have the domain with TSO then you can point the hosting at Squarespace - but yes, you will be charged for hosting...

SquareSpace is not horrendously expensive - the lowest level is just over £100 p/a - if you can't bring that extra value from a website, don't bother...

Alternatives would be finding cheap hosting with wordpress and using that / just setting up a facebook page
Or setting up a website, but looking at how it might bring in extra value

I run a one man band contracting company, business is dead from the traditional sources so I thought I would spin up a website and see if I get any enquires, i'm not looking to sell 1000's of widgets, just if someone was searching some specific keywords then the site may appear and someone may make an enquiry.

I own a number of domains and as I said they are hosted by TSO so already pay hosting.

I am more interested in something that can do the template/ design of square space that I could upload to TSO. I like the design interface of Squarespace but on reflection it seems that I am paying for hosting twice when what I actually need is something to create a couple of pages, upload it to my existing hosting etc.

I've tried using Wordpress but TBH have struggled a bit with the design element, its not my thing.

It sounds like you're more looking for a Wordpress site or similar. Plenty of free and some reasonably priced templates. Not quite as simple as Squarespace, but not far off.

Use your existing hosting package to run it.

Mobirise

I am no expert, but even I can do a decent website in about 3 hours.

I’ve created a couple on there really quickly and hutch should cover it.

If that’s what you’re after then definitely Carrd!
