65inch (or 75) TV with VA panel

I want a VA screen as opposed to IPS as I watch movies in dim light ( and cannot afford OLED). However, the TV manufacturers sure make it hard for you to identify whether its a VA or IPS panel you're getting. Any recommendations for under 1K.

I think any LCD when you get to 65" is pretty pants.
Seewing angles on a VA panel will mean that from normal viewing distance part of the screen will look a washed out mess, even worse on a 75".

I would never buy an IPS, complete crap.


About one of the only passable sets I have seen is the older Panasonic DX902 65, the Sony XE94 65" and the Samsung Q90R.

Seriously though, buy an older 65" OLED, still better.

Can someone explain why IPS TV panels are worse than VA ones? For computer monitors it's the other way round, especially if you want good colour reproduction.

Mentioned this on another thread but this seems relevant. The Sony XH90 may be what you're looking for - VA panel and full array local dimming. Available in 65" and 75". I was all for an OLED, but was concerned by performance in a bright room, and screen burn/panel reliability. Ended up buying one of these. Haven't got it yet so can't give any personal experience

I have the XE9005 and the XF9005 in my place, and both are wonderful.


I also have had a few OLEDs, in the sitting room we have the B7 55".



The OLEDs are stunning, but I watch Sky News for an hour every day, and because of that I have screen burn.


I am happy to replace every 3 years, many are not.
