£40k for a road trip car next year... go..
Discussion
Ok I’m 30 next July and have got clearance from my wonderful fiancée to spend £40k (up to £50k) to ‘get it out my system’ as I guess I’ve done well recently
RS5 was dream car but had one for 5 years, loved it
Parameters...
No suggestions of deposit + finance
Not worried about running costs/insurance
Ideally cab but convince me otherwise
2 seater is OK
2021 trips...
- London to Rioja & Bordeaux
- Lake District
- North Cost 500
- Black Forest & Alps with some serious kit
Current favourite
Aston Martin v8 vantage s cab with sportshift ...

I would probably go for one like this, because manual, enough space for luggage, reliable enough for long road trips

Didn’t realize these were so cheap in the UK - one of these would also be high on my list

The Aston would be a great choice and i'd also consider a Boxster, however it would be hard to walk by this ...

A cabrio would be noisy and security would be an issue.
I’d be going 997 gen 2 targa, there’s one in the classifieds for low thirties but I like this:

More luggage space, seats that can be used and lovely and airy
Had one
Nailed it to Venice and back for a weekend
Perfect.
