new possible home for Tuscans?
Discussion
just read an article on the new for 2006 Britcar V8 series with 30 or 40 min races with one pitstop in the middle.
there will be two classes one for cars producing 460-480bhp and the other for cars producing 400-420bhp
they mention these cars which will be eligible to race.
TVR's, Marcos's, Holdens, Falcons, SCV8's, V8Stars, MG, Jaguar and mustangs. it even mentions that there are plenty of TVR's around!
sounds really good and the soundtrack would be nothing but awesome :D

I mentioned this to Darren and to Andy as I think it would be great for the Tuscans, there is already one (Warren Gilbert's) running in Britcar, has a larger fuel tank then the TC models and they may install a limiter for all I know to make sure it's not over reved and therefore more reliable, the Britcar Tuscan was popping around the Brands GT circuit in 1.35/1.36's, and looked very relaxed, finished in style and got a podium. My records show that when we last ran Tuscans at Brands my times were circa 1.30/1.31's if that's the case maybe the Topcats car has a road car engine or they are taking it very easy. The existing Britcar races range from 100mins to 5/6 hours and more, and the Tuscan is even entering the 24hr race so Topcats seem confident about it. The new V8 series for 2006 with shorter races could be just the place for them and I'm sure that once the TC fans find out whats happening , they will flock to support.
Here's a copy of the DSC report, hope they don't mind me posting this but not everyone can access DSC and this is good news for motorsport fans and competitors alike
Britcar’s V8s
James Tucker was keen to explain the plan for V8-powered cars in the expanding EERC programme in 2006.
“There are a good number of V8s that will be available: TVRs, Marcos, Holdens, Falcons, SCV8s, V8Stars, even Chryslers and Mustangs from the states, plus an MG and a Jaguar.
“Nigel Mustill is working on having a V8Star car running with us, there are the Rouse SCV8s, we’ve got the Marcos Mantis running with us already, Adam Sharpe Motorsport is bringing more cars from Australia, there’s a V8 MG and there are plenty of TVRs available.
“We’re planning 30 or 40 minute races, with a pit stop – and cars which go too quickly will be controlled with a rev. limiter. There will be a two-class structure, with the bigger cars, producing 460 to 480 bhp, in one class, and the likes of the Marcos, producing 400 to 420 bhp in the second class. But they’ll all still be allowed to race in the Britcar events too.”
“We’ve had interest from Ginettas and MINIs to run as part of our programme, and the V8s would play a similar role – helping to break up the day with some shorter races. The Britcar events don’t necessarily have to be longer races – we could run two one hour races occasionally.”
There is even the suggestion that a couple of the new, Aston Martin DBRS9s could be racing on the EERC programme in 2006.
James Tucker was delighted with the combined Britcar / Belcar meeting last weekend: “We had 5,500 people ‘on the ground’, the meeting ran on time and the marshals and stewards did a great job.”
It was certainly a non-stop programme throughout the two days, with the Britsports grid looking stronger than ever, while Saturday’s Production S1 race provided a potentially great finish to that day’s racing – but was spoilt by one driver’s aggression.
The Production S1s are a race too many for us to cover, but James Tucker points out that “we cannot stand for this type of driving. It was a disgraceful move, and the driver has been reprimanded, had four points on his licence, been removed from the results and he will have a two race ban – Snetterton and the Silverstone 24 Hours.”

Just this once - in return, will you promise not to post any more press releases on the forum?

OK Guy's ta very much, I'll leave the BIG DSC web logo sticker on the back of our car for the rest of the season, and as I have some space on the front bumper, If you send me another, I put that on as well
How about race reports and team news as opposed to press releases
Guess you don't want to know that !!! .......... not telling now

Britcar is an excellent home for the TVR Tuscans! It was mentioned on this site some time ago! James and John do a fantastic job and with Dunlop giving long time committment this helps. This is far better than having the Tuscans lapping in club series.
Do I detect the faint whiff of James C? Again......?
