So I’ve bought myself a DAS-6 PRO Dual Action Polisher, but have never used one before. I have always done my polishing, waxing, coating etc by hand and I have to admit that whilst I understand the DA polisher is safe, I’m a little nervous. My nervousness is not helped by the myriad pads out there so any advice on what to get is appreciated, it will mostly be used on motorcycle bodywork, so painted plastic.

The polisher comes with a 5” and 6” backing plate but given the bike use it seems sensible to get a 4” too

What pads foam or microfibre?

Usage will be light polishing, not cutting to remove scuffs and small scratches and wax/coating application

I have a few Megs polishes and a Gyeon one as well as some hard wax and Gyeon coatings, but what’s best to use with machines, and again bike not car, at least not yet!

All advice and experiences are very welcome, the only thing I can’t change is the DA polisher so I hope the reviews were accurate and it us a good one, I was surprised how heavy it was!

Thanks for reading

Have a look at some of the excellent videos on YouTube. The Forensic Detailing channel is the best place to start. Check out this one.

I had decent results on 2 cars just using the hex logic green pad and the scholl S20 black compound.
Depends how far you want to get into it.
