I recently aquired a 996 and while taking off the wheels for routine maintenance, one locknut would not move and I split the socket trying to undo it!
I have tried the hammer a smaller socket onto it solution to no avail and Porsche want me to book an hour in their workshop (£130!) for them to find the socket!!
Anyone got any ideas before I have to resort to drilling it out?

I had exactly the same happen on a 986 two weeks ago. The OPC had a go at finding the right key (for free) but couldn't find the right one. In the end called out a guy called Elvis from here www.lockingwheelnutsremoved.com , cost me 115 quid to have four nuts removed and took him about 15 minutes. He travelled out from reading to us which is about 50 miles. I tried the laser locking wheel nut removal sockets first but found they were too think so couldn't get onto the nut enough before being obstructed by the alloy.
