Samsung Galaxy S7 died - apparently after I uninstalled a Samsung app according to the "repair shop"?

Won't power up, despite having a new battery fitted - so they have given it back to me as unfixable.

I'd really like my data and contacts off it, so is it possible - I'm happy to take it apart now as I have another phone.

All ideas gratefully received and thanks.

I did, but didn't keep up to date with back ups - there's some stuff, but not much frown,

I can't imagine uninstalling an app would stop it powering up even if it was a system app or part of the operating system. At the very least you'd be able to get into the bootloader. Buttons are sometimes different but usually holding power and the volume down key will get you there.

Does it power up but just not go into the standard screen?

If you save your contacts to the sim card they'll still be there.
If you save contacts to a Google account.....which is really the only other alternative.... they'll still be there.

Short answer is yes, slightly longer answer is how much £££ is the data worth?

Rare not to have stuff synced somewhere these days though even without realising it
