Pulled over then followed not long after?!
Discussion
On my way home from hockey training just now, I get pulled over: “it looked like you were doing over 30, and that road is 20”. Then breathalyse me. Pass no problem, and to be honest not sure what speed I was doing, at 2215 at night I guess it was likely I wasn’t doing 20.
I then crawl home making sure I’m at 30 or 20. Then not long after this, now about 3 miles from home another one appears behind me and follows for a couple of miles as I crawl at 20. Nearly home, he just pulls over and stops and I carry on home.
Was this just coincidence? Did the other guys radio the area telling them to look out for a silver Evo? Was it the same guys?
End of the day nothing done apart from a clean breath test.
Just all a bit tedious at 10pm on a Wednesday trying to get home after 2 hours of hockey.

Silver Evo !! It probably just attracted their attention that evening , maybe they were looking for one .
I got stopped 3 times in one night in a 205 Gti , no one was misbehaving , just a weird night
Yeah maybe to do with the car. But in 10 years of ownership it had weird never really attracted the attention of the plod. Maybe today was just randomly unlucky. I got stopped 3 times in one night in a 205 Gti , no one was misbehaving , just a weird night
I must say I’m glad I took the telling off on the chin and crawled home.
Had it some how been the same cops they would have loved to have caught me hooning it having just pulled me.
Oh well, no big deal in the end, apart from the usual jump in heart rate when the blue lights went on, although I must admit I was actually quite pleased when he said he was going to breathalyse me, knowing I hadn't had a drink in 3 days. Nice knowing I had absolutely nothing to worry about in that department!

Glad when Police pull me over when I'm driving an often stolen car.
Better they use an excuse and check everything's OK.
Yes. I have a friend who used to have a V6 Golf. He works weird shifts at times and was often stopped in the small hours on the way home as it was the type of car targeted by thieves. He was on his way in minutes when everything checked out.Better they use an excuse and check everything's OK.
Many years ago my first car was a Bedford HA van, a van version of the Viva car. Driving home after dropping my girlfriend home after midnight meant a couple of stops by the same police officers parked on the regular route. In the end they just waved at me as I passed them. Never a problem as a van at that time presented a legitimate stop/check.

Having stopped you already, carried out a breath test, most likely carried out a PNC check on you and the car, and noted to you that you appeared to be travelling in excess of the speed limit, why would the same Officers bother following you any further, having let you go on your way?I then crawl home making sure I’m at 30 or 20. If there was a serious issue about your speed, they would have dealt with you when they stopped you.
I'd say what happened is, patrols were out carrying out random stops in the area, one of them stopped you, you passed the breathalyser and the PNC check (along with your car), and they let you on your way.
A short time later, another car spotted you, radioed in for a PNC check, and were informed that you had only just been stopped by another car, so the second car didn't carry out a stop.
A few years back, I was travelling home in the early hours of a Sunday morning, having been visiting friends 130 miles away. Around fifteen miles from home, I passed a marked Police car (a BMW 3series estate) parked up in a country Hotel entrance. The car suddenly fired up and started following me, and knew I was about to be pulled over. Low and behold, after half a mile or so, the blue lights went on, so I pulled over. Straight away I put the driver's window down, took the key out the ignition, placed it on the dashboard, and waited for the Officer to approach.
It was a sergeant in the car, and he went through the routine of asking if it was my car, who I was, where I was going at 1.30am in the morning, etc., etc., etc., all of which I had no problem with and answered. He then told me that they were carrying out a campaign of random breath tests and asked if I'd take one, which I did, and passed with a zero reading. He apologised for delaying me, and said that my scruffy old E46 BMW 330 coupe was the sort of car that "lads" tended to buy, who might be tempted to have a drink and still drive, which attracted his attention (I was laughing when I told him: "It's been a few decades since I was a lad!").
I wished him a safe shift, and went on my way.
Around 3 miles further on, I spotted a Marked Police BMW X5 coming the other way, and having just passed me, I saw it's brake lights go on, followed by its headlight beam swinging across the road, as it did a hasty U-turn. Instantly I thought to myself: "He's coming after me to pull me over!". The X5 came barrelling up behind me, and then matched my speed (I was being careful to ensure I wasn't speeding - Just in case).
I knew there was a lay-by coming up, and knew that's where he'd pull me over, so I got ready with my indicator. As soon as his blue lights lit up, I started indicating to pull into the lay-by. Yet again I put the driver's window down, took the key out the ignition, placed it on the dashboard, and waited for the Officer to approach, having a chuckle to myself at the same time. The Officer saw me laughing and asked what was funny, so I told him: "This is my second stop in about three minutes!.....I was stopped by a sergeant in a 3 series about 3 miles back!"
He asked where I'd been stopped, so I told him, and he said: "Ah!, that'll be my sergeant.....Let me just check with him and we'll take it from there."
He came back and said that his sergeant confirmed he'd just stopped me, and that I'd checked out okay, and apologised for the second stop. I told him I had no problem with it because, their random stops might take a drink driver off the road, who might otherwise kill someone on the roads.
Before he let me on my way, he said that there were a couple of more traffic cars further along my route home, and said he would alert them that I'd been stopped twice already, so there was no need to stop me again.
Five miles from home I spotted another marked BMW 3 series estate coming the other way, that on seeing my car approaching, slowed right down. I was just wondering if they'd got the message not to pull me over or not (thinking to myself: "Not three stops in one night!"), when, as I came to pass it, the Officer driving gave me a wave, sped up, and went on his way.
