Hi all,
So i sold my pride and joy Bronze fn2 just a few weeks ago and within 2 weeks bought my next car.
It had to be another type r and there was plenty of umming and ahing about what it should be, fk2? Or fk8?
It could only be a FK8!
Finished in metallic grey i absolutely love it!
I searched for a few and found one for a half decent price in Swansea being sold by a main dealer.
A 2017 plate 2 owner polished metallic grey with 30k miles.
After some negotiating i put down a deposit and awaited the pickup day. Car passed it's MOT at the dealership so a train ticket was booked and off I went.
Took the car for a quick test drive to make sure there were no gear or brake issues and it drove like new.
I managed to get a decent discount as annoyingly i discovered a small deep scratch and noticed that the calipers would need a refurb at some point but this was a very good price and couldn't ignore it for these small imperfections.
The drive home was lovely and just getting to know the car, loved the smooth and strong power delivery and the comfort of the awesome seats. Was very impressed with the tech too and especially the adaptive cruise control and lane assist.
My fav part of the car was the amazing and satisfying gear changes, what a box! Like using an old school arcade gear shift!
I managed to achieve 44mpg on my 160 mile trip home, pretty amazing.
Day 2 meant detailing the car as I found that the paint appeared dull and prob not had a decent clean in it's lifetime.
Spent a good 4-5 hours doing a full decontamination and finished with a polish and wax to protect the paintwork.
And here it is! What a car

They are (well; I thought so as a passenger)If I needed a B road hoonigan I'd deffo consider one of these; but like my lazy auto driving now, I am 41 ya know
I do still look out for decent spec and condition FN2s for the wife as a possibility to replace her 'Racing Jazz' and my pal who runs Grinspeed up here in Preston has some decent ones in every so often... Always gets me thinking! I'd personally love an FD2 but rare as hens teeth and their asking prices always make me balk a bit TBF
But as we both work from home now; we don't do the mileage, so forking out more £££ foe a car that won't get used is a bit daft at this time!

These are definitely growing on me, the looks are mellowing to a certain extent.
Also I was given a 1.6DTEC SR model to drive as a company car for a while, which really impressed me. So the Type R version will be on a whole other level and I'm sure that if I went to test drive one then man maths would be used liberally to justify one making its way onto my driveway.

Haha! Go for it! I haven't really put my foot down yes and fully test it as needs new tyres but for general driving it's very comfy, has a great gearbox with smooth purposeful changes, lovely soft clutch/ biting point and super comfy seats! And you do get attention when out & about but I love it!
New tyres fitted. Went with Michelin pilot sport 4s. Decided to fit 255/35/20 tyres rather than oem (245/30/20) as wanted extra protection for the alloys.
So far these are absolutely brilliant, very comfy, look good and fit the arches better.
Only negative is braking does not feel as responsive as before but should improve in a few hundred miles.
Also speedometer is 100% accurate going over 50mph.
