Morning all.
A few here may just be aware of my ongoing Citroen CX GTI T2 ‘resto-mod-update-project. It’s actually coming along pretty well, engine and turbo diesel gearbox back in, with new Helix clutch between them. New turbo, re-furred intercooler. New clutch cable. New water pipes. New radiator, fluids in. Fuel system(new pump and filter, EV14 injectors, etc...) up and running at 3bar
Anyway, at some point I will have to bite the bullet, and paint it. I’ve always thought that the Turbo CXs with the rear bat wing and the T-Slot wheels really needed to be in a metallic grey colour or perhaps black, or white for that real 80s vibe. I’ve decided on a Toyota colour-‘Metal Stream’
Now comes the tricky bit. The shell and panels are in really good straight condition, it’s why I bought it in the first place, it’s a no sunroof car, but I’m just wondering if it would be feasible to wrap the car rather than have it painted. This is obviously a purely financial decision. I never intended for this to be a ‘correct’ or concours resto, but I do want it to look beautiful. It will be my daily driver
Any thoughts, as always appreciated

I always thought wraps were a fairly temporary thing and tend to look a bit st after a few years. Decent paint job will last indefinitely.

Yep, I’d go for paint too. If you’ve spent ages working on a car you might feel driving around with your pride and joy wrapped hasn’t quite finished the job. I guess it all boils down to whether you have perfectionist tendencies! I do and I’d want to do the job properly.

Paint it is then.
So, next inevitable question. Anyone recommend anyone?

Nick at S L Restoration if you want it painted, have you considered a Topaz Skin?

Totally unrelated, but there was ever an old car that looks like it was designed to be an electric future machine, that Citroen is it!
