Hi

I've just had a call from BMW informing me that a need a new EGR valve on my car. The work on the original recall was carried out last year. The service department said this recall was from Jan 2020. Anyone know if this just an update or another recall?

Thanks.

My EGR was changed a week ago. It had been inspected last year and found to be OK. It seems that BMW have now decided to change them all regardless of condition.
My car is a F30 320d.

The ones that were fine (and even those that got the replacements that were fine) began to fail.

The replacement is a modified one, hopefully to end the EGR cooler, drama.

That being said there is still EGR valves failing aplenty including on the newer B series engines ( I believe the B57 being the latest addition to that list, not entirely unexpected when a tech told me they should be seen as a consumable once the cars get to around 60k and be part of servicing).
