The previous sequels did some relatively clever stuff to bring you up to speed. Similar to Dragon Age series.

I expect you may benefit from knowing the universe but I can't imagine it will dampen your enjoyment, based on how they handled this before.

No idea - but given there is a remaster coming in in the spring you might as well pick that up. I'd argue they are probably the greatest trilogy of all time.

Fingers crossed it’ll be good. Mass Effect Andromeda wasn’t awful but was very flat and dull considering how intriguing the storyline is for the Shepherd trilogy.

Be interesting to see what route they take, it’s a huge universe with a lot of potential for both prequels and sequels. I think the First Contact war with the Turians or more into the Batarian conflicts could be an interesting path.

It's post ME3 ending, Liara is walking up a dead Reaper and you can see another one in the background.

I thought they would have gone pre-Shephard, especially with the first-contact/Turian war.

Still, lets hope they've learnt some lessions from Andromeda.

I'm in.

I've liked all of the series up to now, even Andromeda.

Definitely in.

Not gonna lie, at the liara reveal / smile I might have stepped aboard the hype train, despite blatantly knowing better than to do so.

I hate to be one of those people, but I must admit to be amongst the haters for the ending of ME3. It just felt lazy.

That said ME1 is my favourite Sci-Fi RPG by far and away, and although we're all suckers keep buying remakes, a remake of it is very exciting indeed.

I'm also firmly in the ME3 ending hate camp. It just felt like a massive let down after going through the 3 titles, carrying over progress from the previous title to effect the next for nothing. It's as if it was cobbled together just before release.

Not to mention the erosion of some of the key RPG elements from ME1.

Yes, why they just didn't end it at the chat with Anderson then Boom! cutscene, I don't know.

Still, there are mods that do that now.

It was so full of plot holes and contradictions there's no chance it was how they originally intended their story to end. There were stories that someone else took over at the 11th hour and wrote it with no outside input, which I can fully believe.
