i keep getting old and/or previously watched videos reccomended , im logged in , watch a video start to finish and then its still in the reccomended page , or randomly it starts suggesting videos from 5-7 years ago

youtubers im susbscribed to , watch their vid , like it ...up it pops again?

is there anything you can do to refresh it or see unwatched content ?

Issue with cookies or something? It's normally quite good at remembering stuff, even where you were up to in a vid

I've noticed the same; you can log out & clear all YT cookies but it will come back again eventually. It's like Amazon recommending me pipe benders just because I've already bought a set from them. How many sets do they think I need?

Click the three dots and "not interested" - "tell us why" - "I've already watched this video".

I think a lot of videos do get rewatched many times by the same people so watching doesn't necessarily mean it won't get re-recommended.

I generally find online recommendation engines to be poor, youtube especially. It will feed me the same video, from the same channel that I've already clicked "Not Interested - Don't like the video" on. If you mark a video and "dont like" it will just show you a different video on the same subject - for example dash cam videos.
Ok, so if its a one off, fine, but I mark all of them as "dont like", yet it will still pop up a recommendation for a new one every so often.

Back last year I was looking for a DC power supply, so skipped through a couple of videos for information - every video since I've selected "not interested", yet it still decides to show videos for that particular power supply.

You can tell it not to use your history to provide recommendations, the you can just ignore the page completely because it won't show anything of interest at all! (news, random music videos etc)

The amazon one is terrible - buy an album and it recommends the same one, but on vinyl. Get a "greatest hits" album for an artist, it then recommends every album from the artist, which the great hits compliation is made from. I don't think it shows you now, but it used to tells you "We've recommended this because you bought ..." - some of the match ups were very odd indeed.
