Passat anybody?
Discussion
I am in a position of needing to source a medium size exec saloon and instead of leasing one I am thinking of buying something. I have looked at XE / XF / 508GT, but keep coming back to a facelift 2019 Passat 2.0Tdi SE-L DSG with the 190PS engine.
I guess many will perceive them as a bit 'vanilla' but they look a good solid vehicle for me to do c25k pa in for the next 3 years or so and then sell to a taxi driver!. I have my eye on a couple at c£21k before a deal.
Any thoughts?

Had a 2015 plate, 2.0 tdi se business estate with a manual box for 3 years. In that time had afew on going issues with electronic parking brake (shouldn't effect dsg as it was occurred when operating the clutch) and other than that some temperature sensor that would put the car into limp mode on cold mornings after a few visits it was resolved.
Personally the main reason I dont like the face-lift version is due to radio/ sat nav controls. The entire touch screen and rotary dials just infuriates me. Saying that later generations might have less power due to diesel gate as it would appear starting 2.0tdi has 122ps, top 150ps (both have adblue), whereas it use to be 150ps (without adblue) and 190ps respectively (with adblue).
I'd say best pick is GT spec pre face-lift (led lights, glass roof, heated seats, digital speedo) if your doing laid back motorway the 150 is fine but for that get up and go opt for the 190.
