Good evening, perhaps someone can help me please? My laptop is one of the last with Windows 7, and I am with Virgin Media, but use Mozilla Thunderbird to send and receive my email.
Over the past couple of days, I have been unable to open it up, is anyone else having a problem??

I had a problem recently where I couldn't open Thunderbird.
I simply downloaded Thunderbird again and reinstalled over the top.

Kept all my settings and all was well.

Ive been using it for years, but I think its almost had its day....

I started using it when Outlook express was getting ripped apart by virus type stuff.

We are (hopefully) moving soon, and then I will move to web based email.

That was exactly why I started using it, but I may have to look at an alternative I think.

I'm another long time user, currently on a Win10 laptop and a Win7 desktop. I've never encountered any problems and have no reason to change. What are you finding that makes you think you might move from it?

Why has it had its day? It's supported now as it's always been

....... from my point of view, I have always been aware that they are not funded, and appear to rely on donations, of which I have made a couple of small ones. Generally, I have no issues, other than the one have just encountered.

I just feel that requiring an actual email clinet isnt really relevant or necessary anymore.

My version keeps taking a while to open and close mails and I cba to nessaround with it.

I will simply move to gmail.

I use it because I have accumulated several different addresses over the years and it handles them all in one place. Occasionally I have had to close it and re-open it to make it download the latest messages, but I rarely shut down my computer but leave it in standby overnight so that may be the cause.

Gmail allows you to have multiple accounts come into one Inbox and for you to reply from the account which received the email.
