i sold my tuscan last year because of new (human) bady
but i miss it like hell now have m3 but its not the same
so i am toying with the idea of a griff for fun and sun but only have 10k to spend
i think i will go for an earley 500 but i know very little about the cars
what are your thoughts
how does that car compare to a tuscan?
what are the running cost like?
any help would be welcome

I have a feeling that unless you are very lucky, any Griff 500 for which the seller is willing to accept £10K is going to be a major shed.
I think you probably need to up your budget, or look for a Griff 400 or Chimaera.
They are quite a bit different to drive than the Tuscans I have driven, too - handling is not so well resolved, completely different feel to the engine (RV8 feels much more brutal in its torque delivery, even if the figures for the Speed 6 engine tell a different story).
Looking on the bright side, if you find a good one, the running costs are likely to be much less than a Tuscan. Much simpler, easy enough to work on yourself, and classic insurance on the earlier models.

The griff will feel faster.... unless you are willing to change down to get the engine in the right rev range.
In gear 20 mile an hour increment times are ahead of a tuscan, in fact ahead of a sagaris up to about a 110... ( 2nd, 3rd 4th or 5th)
See Autocar figures for both...
It has brutal torque at lower revs.
Edited to add on a more negative note - a griff (according to Autocar, 10 year old review) takes 11 - ELEVEN metres longer to stop from 70 mph, than a sagaris...
MAybe I will have a brake upgrade after all.
