I know someone who bought an second hand Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 in the late 60’s/ early 70’s I believe and drove it a bit and sold it for a profit after a few years. It turned up in an auction years later and was proven to be the last car Enzo Ferrari ever raced in - Nick Mason from Pink Floyd bought it for a few million quid

I think he was very pragmatic about it, was decades before the internet so impossible to know these things. He worked as a dentist and made a decent living with a nice house and made a cracking job restoring cars as his hobby so I think is happy with his lot in life
