At a certain age you get to the point where there's nothing you really want, within (financial) reason so a token gift is more than sufficient.

If you have no kids then why not, can always do something else later in the year etc..

We are doing less and less each year as far as gifts go for each other but Lady Slopes has gone nuts with decorations but then we have 3 grand daughters all under 6 so it's for them really and she has gone overboard on presents for them too.

Yes, same here. We have what we want when we want it - within reason - so token gifts at Christmas. Also stopped Christmas cards many years ago and donate to a local charity instead.

My wife and I have havent got each other presents for years!

This year we have decided to treat ourselves after Christmas to an apple watch each, hoping they will be cheaper after the big day! Thats only because her fitbit battery is lasting a few hrs between charges and i have cracked the screen on my garmin.

Our children only get a few small gifts - max of £100, and we dont buy for anyone else.
We do make a few presents - turned snowmen, door garlands, cakes that sort of thing
